The pages are stiff pulp paper, almost card stock, with color illustrations on thinner glossy stock.
Few have survived the ravages of time and as many as 5 generations of children. We found less than a half dozen copies available world wide and only one with a dust jacket that was described as Fine/Near Fine (0.00 +) No other copies with a jacket were advertised, and many with far worse damage than this.
An important book for the Disney collector, and for Whitman collectors. Silly Symphonies is a 75 film deep library of animated shorts. Donald Duck debuted in the series. This book is assembled from cells for several of the shorts based on nursery rhymes. King Cole, for example. This book was released with a companion coloring book that employed the same drawings. No doubt a good number of copies of this book were loved by their children in such a way.
