For the advanced scratch builder and speed expert, the Mark 4 controller provides the ultimate in super-sensitivity and response.  This championship grade unit is readily identified by its clear ruby-red case and features a specially built 15 OHM resister cartridge (just right for those hot rewound motors).  The Cox cartridge employs fine high temperature wire that is size stepped for greater dependability and long life.  Dynamic braking, an indispensable feature made famous in the Mark 3, is also featured in the Mark 4.  Long-time users of Cox Mark 4 controllers usually comment on the steady acceleration available over the full range of plunger travel and the fact that a Mark 4 outwears three ordinary controllers.  All of the outstanding features of the Mark 3 are incorporated in the Mark 4.
Cat # 3450   Color: Ruby Red

This controller outperforms and outsells all others in its class.  The black pistol grip handle is comfortable to hold and is amply vented for rapid heat dissipation.  A 25 OHM taper wound resistor permits smooth acceleration and response.  Plunger is thumb actuated and has a silver-impregnated graphite brush slider for maximum electrical and mechanical efficiency.  Cooling fins on the plunger shaft maximize heat dissipation.  A flexible and easily replaced fuse wire protects the resistor from burnout resulting from improper hookup.  Connecting cable terminates in color coded wire leads and alligator clips.  A flexible cord protector minimizes chafing and wear of cable where it passed through the controller case.
Manufactured in the 1960's by Cox Manufacturing.
My Dad owned a Hobby Shop that closed in the early 1970's, and he kept some of the more interesting slot cars and accessories from that era.  The items I am listing are in most cases, near new or gently used.  I have taken many pictures to show every angle and have tried to describe all features and/or flaws to the best of my ability.  Please email with any questions specific to something I may have missed. Please check my other listings as I will be selling many cars, accessories and track in all three scales-- HO, 1/32nd, and 1/24th.
If you don't see the car or part you are looking for, please email me.  If I have it, I will list it for you.  Many of the items in my inventory  are  NEW OLD STOCK.
